OC Health Closes Bars, Tonight at Midnight

UPDATE: At the same time this was being written by edict of OC Health– State Governor Gavin Newsom came out and banned all restaurants again, also– statewide.

If your favorite watering hole doesn’t serve food– then tonight at 12:01am, they will be forced to close by the directive of Orange County Health (linked here: https://twitter.com/ochealth/status/1278389824114667520).

“Effective 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020, & continuing until further notice, bars, pubs, breweries, & brewpubs that do not offer dine-in meals are ordered closed by Acting County Health Officer.”

This has been done under the pretext of “flattening the curve” for SARS-CoV-2 spread (known colloquially as “Coronavirus”), as to not overwhelm hospitals and force them into triage situations.

With around 5,000 beds available, OC currently has 176 patients in ICU and 334 in regular care, for a total of 510 hospitalized today. (link: https://occovid19.ochealthinfo.com/coronavirus-in-oc)
