Body Recovered Tuesday Confirmed as that of British Vacationer

It seems the sad story has come to an end, as the OC Coroner has identified the body located Tuesday as the body of a young man on vacation with his family, who went missing while snorkeling in the ocean on his 18th birthday.

The body was officially located about 300 yards offshore, and was that of Christopher Nguyen, 18 years old on the day he went missing, July 1.

Laylan Connelly with the OC Register has covered this better than we would ever want the opportunity to do.  Her story can be found, here: https://www.ocregister.com/2019/07/11/body-found-off-newport-beach-identified-as-that-of-swimmer-who-went-missing-july-1-his-18th-birthday-while-on-vacation-from-england/

Please remember that the ocean is a dangerous place by default– not by exception.  Please be careful each time you venture into the waters off shore.

Our thoughts are with the family of this young man as they face the future ahead.  May he rest in peace.
