Mandatory Stay at Home Orders Ends, Outdoor Dining Restored

Early Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom lifted the draconian Stay at Home orders and the full shutdown of restaurants throughout the state– but not before sending out ABC officials on Saturday to shut down and fine businesses who had patrons sitting on tables outside.

This allows hair salons and nail salons to open outdoors, for the first time in over a month.

Orange County has officially moved into the Purple Tier in Newsom’s color-coding system, and the OC Board of Health states “residents are encouraged to continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering when indoors outside of your household, and wash your hands often.”

Additionally Facebook’s ban of the SaveNewport page has been mysteriously lifted as well.  We are happy to be able to share news on Facebook with you again.  The ban was explained as “permanent”, according to Facebook, but no warnings were issued and no explanation was provided, either for the ban or for the reinstatement– a chilling effect on government watchdog groups, digital newspapers, and citizens alike.
