As of yesterday, pick up and delivery on the entirety of Balboa Peninsula is official for the Downtowner app. The original territory was limited to the northern end of the peninsula, and while they would generally drop-off at other locations, there was not a pick-up option available, so you had to make your own way down.

Downtowner makes its money off advertisements on its vehicles, and their drivers work for tips alone.

And seeing as how today is my birthday, I can’t imagine a method of transportation more preferable than being chauffeured around in a golf cart on a beach… for free! Maybe the next expansion will be to Balboa Island? Fingers crossed!
