Bribery Investigation Likely in City Hall Scandal

Do you remember when people called us crazy when we called for an audit of City Hall, the project that ballooned from a $46m cash project to a quarter-billion-dollar debacle, saying that corruption was unlikely and that this would just be a waste of money?

Dixon promised an audit, but instead just asked the city to review themselves.  Unsurprisingly, the city investigated themselves and found themselves to be perfect.

Well, now our assistant city manager is likely going under investigation for bribery charges by Orange County prosecutors, as leaked documents show.  We don’t seem so crazy now, do we?

Just as a reminder, here are a few of the documented times we have promoted auditing the City Hall project:
March 24, 2015 (4 minutes 30 seconds into video)
Oct 13, 2014
Sept 18th, 2014
Aug 21, 2014

Aug 20, 2014
July 30, 2014
May 28, 2014

Now– can we please get an OUTSIDE AUDIT instead of an INTERNAL audit, so that we can learn the truth about the biggest single project that Newport Beach has ever funded?
