The Heartfelt Cardiac Project is donating their time for the kids/families of Newport Beach & the surrounding areas tomorrow. The low cost to free & has saved many lives by diagnosing silent but deadly heart issues in kids, teens & their families (normally $1,500).
Thank you to Newport resident Heather Maves for bringing this to my attention. Heather got involved after her own son suffered a sudden cardiac arrest 2/7/15, luckily she is a trained registered nurse and immediately started CPR. He was in a coma on life support for close to a week before waking & having a life saving device implanted. Their insurance refused $4,500 in testing & blamed his chest pain on his asthma. She states that if she had known about non-profit cardiac screenings, things may have gone a different way, which is how her involvement began.
Every 3 we lose another young child to sudden cardiac arrest– so please, take this opportunity to get a checkup tomorrow from 9am-3pm at the Community Room at the new City Hall, at 100 Civic Center Drive in Newport Beach.
