Today is the the day! The world-famous Hi Time Wine Cellar Chili Cookoff is happens today from noon until 5pm!
The 9th annual celebration goes to benefit the Boys and Girls Club in the harbor area. Last year, the event raised over $23,000, and hopes are this year will even surpass that. Admission is cash only and is $10 to get in, or $20 for entrance and 20 raffle tickets. Tickets are not available online.
Over 30 restaurants and other local businesses will be participating in the contest, and they will be serving everything from the best chili to the hottest chili you’ve ever had, as well as a new cocktail contest– so if the chili doesn’t get to ya, the drinks just might! Several bands will also be attending as well, so there truly is something for everyone– and it all goes to a great cause.
