First, let me apologize for my lack of updates. As you may know, SaveNewport is a one-man-show, and I got into a pretty fun bicycling accident about a week ago and have been basically immobile since, with a lot more pain that I care to admit. Don’t worry, just a bunch of superficial wounds and a lot of swelling. I should be back in action physically next week– but let’s get this news site going again after my “little vacation”, shall we? Sooo…
Did you see the amazing skyview of SpaceX’s newest launch on Sunday, which took off at 7:21pm? SpaceX did another showy California launch from Vandenberg AFB, with a Falcon 9 carrying the SAOCOM 1A and ITASAT 1 satellites, on October 7th .
Here is an absolutely stunning timelapse of the event, captured nextdoor in Huntington Beach, by “Visual Burrito”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x7ruR5Vygc
If you were one of the several people who had photos (and even ones I asked for use permission!) please forgive my mindlessness as I recover from this injury– but please post them below to share with others– I saw some really great photos out there!
There are three other Falcon 9 launches scheduled– all next month. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated as to when those will be occurring, too!
