Sunday, August 12th is the the day the world-famous Hi Time Wine Cellar Chili Cookoff is happens from noon until 5pm!
The 12th annual celebration goes to benefit the Boys and Girls Club in the harbor area. Last year, the event raised $32,750.32 for the Boys & Girls Club of Central Orange County– SO CLOSE to matching the $35,000 raised in 2015! Hopes are this year will even surpass that!
Admission is cash only and is $10 for admission only, or $20 for admission plus 20 raffle tickets, if you buy in advance (otherwise, they are $15 and $25, respectively). This year, tickets are finally available online, at: https://www.hitimewine.net/charity-chili-cook-off
Over 30 restaurants and other local businesses will be participating in the contest, and they will be serving everything from the best chili to the hottest chili you’ve ever had, and it looks like they’ll be continuing the cocktail contest they started back in 2015, too– So if the chili doesn’t get to ya, the drinks just might! Several bands will also be attending as well, so there truly is something for everyone– and it all goes to a great cause.
