OCFair May Turn Equestrian Center into RV Park, meeting THURSDAY MORNING

A while back, the OC Fair Board attempted to sell the land for commercial development, until the state stepped in to stop it.  Now, the OC Fair Board is set to consider the newest Site Master Plan– which cost OC Taxpayers over a quarter-million dollars to develop– on Thursday, April 26th at 9am in the Administration Building of 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.

After this meeting, the environmental review process will begin.

Our State Assemblyman, Matthew Harper, has issued this statement on the matter:
“I have written the entire OC Fair Board and the Governor in favor of the equestrian center. I am also sending a representative to speak at the OC Fair Board on Thursday while I am here in Sacramento for the legislative session.”
The Equestrian Center is one of the few places left that still celebrates Orange County’s rich rural history.  Turning it into an RV park doesn’t seem like something “for the people”, but rather for a select number of people who want to have room to park their toys on public land.
If you want to lodge an official complaint, you can email them at ocfinfo@ocfair.com, or call at (714) 708-1500.  However, showing up and speaking at the meeting has a much greater effect on the outcome, if you are able to do so at such short notice.
