You may be registered to vote in Newport Beach, but I bet all of your friends are not! There are less than three weeks left before the election, but there is less than a week left to register in time to vote in November’s election, and people are already voting via absentee ballots!
You can register yourself or help someone else register– all completely online– at http://savenewport.com/vote/
This election cycle, polls have my race as tied with a competitor who has so little time that he has attended fewer than half of the candidate forums in Newport Beach. While his campaign is being fueled by big bucks, mine is being fueled by grassroots activism– and people like you. This race is likely to come down to just a dozen votes or so– literally a margin so small that it the mere weather could affect whether or not people come out to vote, and change the complete outcome of the race. Please, be sure that you are registered to vote, and make sure your friends are too.
Here are a few easy and free ways to help:
1) VOTE! This is important! 🙂
2) Register your friends to vote– nearly 50% of Newport Beach is not registered to vote. Send them the link at savenewport.com/vote and make sure they are ready for Tuesday, November 8th!
3) Group-email or Group-text your friends, or talk to your neighbors about my candidacy– make sure they get out to vote!
Remember, it’s October: People are already set in their ways when it comes to the presidential election and at this point are unlikely to be swayed– But do encourage them to vote for someone who defended small businesses such as bars and restaurants when the city tried to shut them down at 11pm. Or fought for our jet pack operators in the harbor who draw such tremendous business and keep Newport unique. Someone who has fought for the countless other small businesses who have suffered financial losses or even closures thanks to poor planning by the city or ongoing construction nightmares choking off business. Or the person who has led the charge to Save Dog Beach after our current council tried to shut it down a year ago. Or the person who continually fights to prevent our council from raising taxes right here in Newport Beach.
This is a critical election in Newport– not just “because it’s my race”, but because if my primary opponent wins, we will have a plurality of people in office who are managed by the same campaign manager. You can see why this could be extremely dangerous.
There are less than three weeks left until the general election. I ask for your help in this final push to put me over the top. And I will keep fighting for you.
