Pet of the Week – Teddy

Look at this fuzzy beast!  Newport has a lot of great dogs in need of great homes and great owners… And we’ve got the perfect pup for you to rescue who desperately needs a forever home.

From the shelter:

“Teddy is an older gentleman looking for his forever retirement home. He is very small — only about 5 pounds.  We rescued him from the Orange County Shelter on his last day.  He was going to be put down for having cataracts.

Even for an older guy, Teddy seems to have some spring to his step!  He walks around our yard seemingly with no troubles at all, and gets excited to go on a walk.  But when he gets back, he is just thrilled to sit on our laps and be cuddled.  He likes everyone, people and dogs included, and cats don’t bother him, either.  Teddy has been to see a vet, and they say that even for an older guy, he looks great — no major health problems.  He sure is lucky!  Teddy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  He is also house-trained.  Please consider opening your home to an older dog who needs a warm place to retire and be loved.

Home Free Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a registered 501c3 organization and operates out of a facility in Newport Beach.  They provide housing and care for the shelter animals of the City of Newport Beach.  Most of dog rescues come pre-screened from the Orange County shelter on their last day or two, but they have also rescued dogs from Riverside and San Bernardino county shelters.  Home Free Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is not a breed-specific shelter.  Their mission is simple: help dogs in need find their new forever homes.
