We Just Broke 3,750 Subscribers! THANK YOU!

Less than one month after hitting 3500 Facebook subscribers, we have now exceeded 3,750.  The momentum is growing, and I could not be more excited about it!  Our local government is the one that has the most immediate affect on our lives, and being involved here really and truly makes a difference.

When I started getting involved with local politics, I didn’t know anyone “political”.  I couldn’t even name a single councilperson.  I started attending the meetings and calling BS when needed (I am told BS stands for “Blatant Shenanigans” 😉 ).  Fast-forward a few years later… and here we are.  I never would have imagined it could have gotten this far, and something tells me it’s nowhere near the end.

To my long-time friends, I’m still just “Mike”.  The whole SaveNewport movement is as strange to them as it is to me 🙂
I guess it proves a point, though: It is vividly clear that there is a complete and total lack of truthfulness and relatability in political commentary being served to the public.  I was not expecting to fill that void, but I am more than happy to do so.

I could also not be more pleased with the number of people who truly do care about preserving our beautiful little beach town for what it is: A small, quiet town, home to some of the most amazing stories, secrets, and history that the world has to offer.

I have a small but elite software development company (yes, we are entirely US-based), so my work schedule can sometimes pull me away as I have to be “Mr Salesman” to keep us all afloat, but I will continue to keep everyone up to date as much as I can with my work schedule.

Thank you all for your concern for our little beach town– truly the best place on earth.  Keeping it that way is a fight, and with some of our electeds, it will surely continue to be, but we’ll keep up the battle.

Mike
