Beach Parking Lots Reopened

After intense pressure from the medical and academic math community, Newport Beach has finally re-opened the beach parking lots that the city manager illegally closed by herself without any legal authority nearly 2 weeks ago.

Rumor has it that next weekend, the illegally closed boardwalks will also be reopened.

It is clear that the curve being flattened (http://savenewport.com/2020/04/17/oc-has-successfully-flattened-the-curve/) occurred a few weeks ago and the illegal closings by the city manager without a public vote by the council were simply a reaction due to paranoia, and not of science.  We are glad she saw the light, and reversed her illegal actions, and we hope city council and District Attorney Todd Spitzer holds her accountable for her actions.  Sadly, since the the council were the ones who falsely gave her the impression that they could and would abdicate their power to her to begin with, this is unlikely, but we can still hope.

Newport Beach is officially open for business.
