3rd Annual Underwater Cleanup Had Massive Turnout & Success!

Last Saturday’s Newport Harbor Scuba Cleanup by Help Your Harbor was a tremendous success, with several hundred SCUBA-certified divers attending and ridding our beloved Bay of a whopping 4,700 pounds of trash– nearly two and a half tons worth!

As I just swapped out for a new gearbag, apparently I didn’t switch the storage spot for my diving card this year, so I arrived but did not participate.  A reminder to bring your dive card! 🙂

Thank you to all the divers, volunteers, and organizers who made this event a fantastic one!

Last year we pulled out several old metal Christmas trees from beneath the docks of John Wayne’s old house.  If you were a diver or on one of the boats, what was the strangest thing YOU pulled up this year (or one of the previous years!)?
