Just Another “Maniac” Monday? 10-foot Waves @ WEDGE

Today, Surfline is reporting a forecast of TEN FOOT waves at the Wedge… so you know what that means!

The structure of The Wedge often double those sizes, and is sure to attract a ton of tourists, so if you want to check it out, consider a rideshare or riding a bike.

The Swells are supposed to be coming from a 4.8ft from the West, and a 1.6ft from the South, starting at 9am and carrying into the night (10pm), and even reaching 11ft at 11pm.  Sets these big can be seen all day today and Tuesday, but with Tuesday’s double-pattern South Swell, they could be even better tomorrow.

Today, the peak tide times will be:

8:29 AM PDT (3.8 feet High Tide)
1:47 PM PDT (1.4 feet Low Tide)
and
7:59 PM PDT (6.1 feet High Tide)

Tomorrow’s peak tide times will be:
9:20 AM PDT (3.9 feet High Tide)
2:28 PM PDT (1.5 feet Low Tide)
8:38 PM PDT (6.4 feet High Tide)

Remember, with big waves come equally big Rip Currents, so warn others of their presence and know how to identify them and deal with them.

Above all, have fun safely in the water, or from the shore and please don’t be the one that needs rescuing.
