Attention SCUBA Divers: Underwater Bay Cleanup, this Saturday!

This Saturday will kick off the 2nd Annual Underwater Cleanup for Newport Harbor!  This event, sponsored by many local businesses, is the second event– the strangest thing found last year?   A firearm! (police said it did not appear to be used in any crime)

If you are a PADI-certified diver with gloves and a cutting tool, you can sign up here: https://www.nhunderwatercleanup.com/register.html

Beach City Sports is giving 50% off of rentals for the event– but you must contact them independently. (www.beachcitiesscuba.com)

The event will begin simultaneously at Balboa Bay Club and the Duffy Electric Boats dock, starting at 7am, and will deploy people to various locations throughout the harbor.  Above water help is needed for dock cart assist, food stations, registration, diver assist, communications, Project Aware data cards, unique item collection, etc. If you have special skills and want to take on a bigger role as a team captain, please contact us at info@NHUnderwaterCleanup.com— volunteers are still needed!

Harbor Construction Co. has donated the use of a Crane Boat to collect the trash and will be lifting some heavy object found underwater the day before the event. Bristol Farms is providing delicious food and financial support this year and the Balboa Bay Club is donating the venue, staffing and so much more!!!
