Tourist Season Officially Begins

Everyone knows that Memorial Day Weekend is the official-unofficial start of summer.  The “parking spot safaris” have already begun, and won’t let up until Labor Day.  Remember to stay safe this weekend, as the tourists will be flooding our town both in car and on foot.  Many of them may not be sober– so be extra cautious.

LOCK YOUR BIKES.

Summertime this year may be cooler than in past years, but ladies and gentlemen of Newport Beach– wear sunscreen!

Also, to kick this summer off, Facebook gave me a “verified” checkmark.  Woohoo!  But wait– there’s more!  My friends over at Google (who also gave us the nations second-ever Waze team!) recommended that I should submit SaveNewport to be a feed in Google News.  They said that due to it being a “special situation”, that while it should be able to be included, it may a few weeks to complete.  So look for that, too!

If you have been imbibing to celebrate your summer party this weekend, please don’t drink and drive!  If you’ve been celebrating, remember– you can always find a ride:

New users of Lyft can use our code of “SAVENEWPORT” and it will pay for the whopping first $50 of your fare!  You can download Lyft here:https://www.lyft.com/invited/SAVENEWPORT

New users of Uber can use our code of “Uber4Newport” and it will pay for the first $15 of your fare.  You can download Uber here: https://get.uber.com/invite/uber4newport

You can call a Yellow Cab OC, at 714-999-9999 (MAKE NOTE: 18004mytaxi is no longer working)

But trust me on the sunscreen.
