Dirty Old Wedge Shatters Records, Gets One Last Showtime

As many of you already know, the movie Dirty Old Wedge is about bodysurfers and our world-famous surf-spot, The Wedge.  Created by Newporter Tim Burnham, this movie originally had 2 showtimes scheduled for the Newport Beach Film Festival– and they sold out.
So they added a 3rd.  And they sold out.
So they added a 4th.  And they sold out.

Now, on the final day of the Newport Film Fest, they are adding a fifth showing last-minute and have officially announced that Dirty Old Wedge is the highest-grossing film in the international festivals 17-year history– that is quite the accomplishment!

If you haven’t seen it, this is your last chance, as no other methods of being shown will be available for at least the next 6 months.  Buy your tickets for tonight’s final Film Fest day and the final showing of Dirty Old Wedge,  here: http://www.newportbeachfilmfest.com/event/dirty-old-wedge-5/

Tonight is also the final Gala for the Newport Film Festival, if you’d like to buy tickets there, you can do so here: http://www.newportbeachfilmfest.com/event/the-fixer/ Food and drink are provided with the price as well as all the indie film enthusiasts you can imagine.  If it is anything like last night’s precursor, it will be a blast!

So about the movie?  Well, I won’t give you any spoilers, but it was great.  It was a mix of a coming-of-age story, local history, politics, and great access to world-famous surfers and shapers who helped bring the Wedge to its place in history.  You won’t be disappointed… even if you’re a boogie boarder!
