“GuacAmigos” Opens in old “Joe’s Crabshack” Location

As we know, Joe’s Crabshack closed recently with very little notice.  If you would still like to get your fix, the closest one to Newport is in their Garden Grove location, at 12011 Harbor Blvd. Garden Grove, CA 92840 (11am to 11pm)

But from its ashes rises the newest “high volume, high profile” concept called GuacAmigos launched by three restaurateur brothers and their newest partner, Tony Hawk.   Yes, that Tony Hawk.

I skated over to the location to have a chat with the owners a few weeks ago at their location, and from the sound of it, this is going to be a high-end, quick-grab menu (but not “fast food”), with a full bar– hence the “Tequila & Tacos”.  Judging by the food photos alone, I am very excited to give this a whirl.

Opening today, their hours appear to be authorized for 11am to 11pm, but I have not received the final confirmation of that from the restaurant themselves, but given normal grand openings– expect them to open their doors today sometime after 6pm.
UPDATE: The grand opening will be TOMORROW, on Valentines Day– not today!

So give em a visit at their new location, opening today, at 2607 West Pacific Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92663

Also: Give our other newest PCH restaurant opening, next door to Billy’s at the Beach, called Louie’s By the Bay (http://louiesnewport.com/).  If you think there might be some sturdy competition based on just the name alone, just take a look at their drink menu, under Mai Thai, where it says if you want a good Mai Thai, go next door to Billy’s!  This restaurant is being run by the owners of the Cannery and the ORIGINAL Ritz partners (not the Seafood Ritz), so while I have not gotten down there to try since they opened two weeks ago– their menu is sure to be fantastic, and combining great food with a view like that– what’s not to love?
