Here We Go! Your Election Headquarters!

First, THANK YOU for all of your continued support over all these years.

YOUR POLLING PLACE:
You can find your polling place by entering your address, here: https://electionmapping.ocgov.com/pollfind/index-new.asp?electionabbr=gen2016
It’s a bit tricky, though.  If your address is “112 E Bay Ave”, then type “112” in the first box, and simply “Bay” into the other one.
Polls are open from 7:00 AM-8:00 PM (unless there are still voters there, or in line, then they will also be served)

EMERGENCY VOTING:
If you will be out of town or cannot vote on Tuesday, you can vote Sunday and Monday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at:
– Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center: 1845 Park Ave. Voting in Harper Room.
– Community Center. Irvine Civic Center: 1 Civic Center Plaza. Voting in CTC room on first floor.
– Orange County Registrar: 1300 S. Grand Ave., Santa Ana.

HISTORY:

As you all know, I didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to run for council having no experience with the subject.  I’m the only candidate running without a campaign manager whispering what to tell everyone, the only one who isn’t backed by any PACs or organized special interest groups seeking to push their own agenda– so the Mike you’ve known for years and the Mike you see today will be the same Mike you get on the dias– flaws and all!  I’m also the only one who is not endorsed by any member of our current city council, which has raised taxes, attacked small businesses, illegally seized property, violated Prop13, and illegally violated Greenlight which seeks to control traffic problems and limit building growth like skyrises (I’m pro-property rights, but I’m also pro-law.  We should follow the law.  Either obey the law with Greenlight or change it, but we should not be making a policy of violating law.)

All of my donations have come from people like you– people who I have fought for and earned their respect and support throughout the years– and I hope that you have texted and emailed your friends to ask them to support me, too!   Remember: You can ALL vote on me (no matter where you live in Newport!).  If you haven’t already contacted your friends– please do!  It means a lot right now!

CRITICAL RACE:
As of about a month ago, I was tied for First in my race against someone who didn’t even have the time to show up to even half of the candidate forums.  After the nasty hit piece that they paid $10k to try to sink me with, I am unsure of how the results look at the current time.  There is a good possibility that it will backfire, or a possibility that it will stick.  One thing is for sure, though: It has solidified me as the anti-establishment candidate in the year of anti-establishment candidates!  I have a feeling this will come down to a couple of dozen votes.  In 2014, our neighboring city of Costa Mesa had a race in which the sitting mayor only won by 47 votes.  This vote will be a close election for my race– YOUR VOTE MATTERS, A LOT!

JOIN ME:
Join me at Aurora Tuesday night (2305 W Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, CA 92663), we will begin streaming the results live, at 8:05pm.
Yes, you will also be able to see the presidential race streaming live there, too!

For our Newport Beach City Council race, the vote reporting update schedule is the following: 8:05pm, 9:30pm, 10:00pm, 10:30pm, 11:00pm, 11:30pm, 12:00am, 12:30am, 1:00am (tentative last update for the evening)
Wednesday, November 9th – 5:00 p.m. first post-Election-Night unofficial results from additional vote-by-mail ballots.
Updates will continue each weekday by 5:00 p.m. during the canvass period until the last official results are posted.

So how many ballots are actually cast? in 2014 Newport Beach had an average of 22,991 votes cast per-district.
But that wasn’t a presidential year.  Of those voting in our last presidential year, 2012, Newport had an average of 30,173 votes cast per-district
But that was an incumbent presidential year.  In the last open presidential year, 2008, Newport had an average of 36,426 votes cast per-district.  We can likely expect this many, this year.
And how many ballots are already cast?  As of this writing, 18,466 ballots have already been returned– a full half of what the total expected are!  So hopefully that hit piece didn’t give me too much damage!

This will be a close race, for sure– join in the fun Tuesday, November 8th, an hour before the polls close, starting at 7pm– we’ll be there until it closes!
