City Council Forums are Here (and I could use your support!)

It’s that time of year when politics heats up, and Newport’s city council race is already having its first debates/forums this year, starting tomorrow.

On Tuesday the 16th at 7:30am, The Newport Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first debate at the Newport Beach Public Library next to City Hall, at 1000 Avocado Avenue Newport Beach, CA 92660.  It’s requested to email Pam Smith at psmith@newportbeach.com or Steve Rosansky at steve@newportbeach.com to RSVP so they know how many people to cater for and how many seats to set up.  RSVPs are requested but it is not required.  You can download the PDF for this event, here: ChamberCandidateForum2016

The second forum will be the following day– Wednesday the 17th– and will be the Feet to the Fire forum.  This forum is hosted by local political writer Barbara Venezia and will occur in the evening with a 6pm-7pm mingling and a 7:15pm start time for the forum.  At this event, I will have signs, flyers and business cards, so please feel free to swing by and pick up a sign for yourself or a friend!

This election cycle is a critical one for Newport.  I’ll need the help of everyone to get the word out and talk to their neighbors to keep up the momentum.  Right now, the fundraising is in a dead-heat with all of the candidates raising within a few thousand bucks of each other– that means this election will be won or lost based on participation of Newport citizens.

So please join me at one or both of these events– I’d love to have you there!
