Ben Carlson Statue Unveiling Today

Today on July 6th– two years after his final save– Ben Carlson’s statue will be unveiled at the base of Newport Pier, in McFadden Square.

Thousands of people donated and tens of thousands participated in the movement– this will mean a lot to everyone, and serve as a lasting memory of his sacrifice as the first lifeguard to lose his life in Newport Beach.  The statue will also be focusing on water safety, helping to save lives even today.

More information can be found here: http://savenewport.com/2016/06/28/ban-carlson-monument/

The ceremonies start at 6:45pm today with live music and the official unveiling will be at 7:30pm.
Arrive early because parking will be filled.

I’ll see you there.
