Today is opening day for the American Legion, but yesterday the Newport Harbor Yacht Club had their coolest opening day in 100 years… their one-century birthday! NHYC held an Opening Day Race on Saturday, which had a couple of dozen contenders, all racing from Long Beach to Newport Harbor.
But as you know, we’ve got tons of yacht clubs in Newport, and the Opening Day festivities aren’t over yet!
Next Saturday, May 7th, Lido Isle Yacht Club will have its Opening Day ceremonies.
The Newport Elks Lodge Yacht Club beat everyone to the punch, celebrating on the first week of last month!
Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club will be opening on Saturday, May 7th, and
Balboa Yacht Club will also be hosting their Opening Day on May 7th.
