Pet of the Week: JoJo

Tired of all the Dog Beach posts and want a dog of your own? 🙂

Fret not, we’ve got the perfect pup for you to rescue– and he needs a forever home.

From the shelter:
JoJo has been waiting a very long time for his family.  He has been with Home Free for about a month, and before that he had been pulled from the Orange County shelter by another rescue group, which is going out of business, where he spent several months without any luck finding a family.  We took him in, got him the medical attention he needed (he had a kidney infection, which appears to have cleared up with medication), and now he is all ready for adoption.

He is as sweet as can be!  He is a small chihuahua, no more than a few pounds.  He loves going for walks, loves sitting on laps, seems to like most other small dogs, and is an all around affectionate boy.  He is about 2 years old, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Home Free Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a registered 501c3 organization and operates out of a facility in Newport Beach.  They provide housing and care for the shelter animals of the City of Newport Beach.  Most of dog rescues come pre-screened from the Orange County shelter on their last day or two, but they have also rescued dogs from Riverside and San Bernardino county shelters.  Home Free Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is not a breed-specific shelter.  Their mission is simple: help dogs in need find their new forever homes.
